The Story

Open Book stood as a more in-depth interview series, focused specifically on the music. I sat down with artist Kojey Radical for both this series and Sound Check to better understand the roots of his music and his visuals.

Sound Check is an interview series I molded while at AFROPUNK, handling the edits, design, and taking over as producer for some episodes. We caught artists before and after their live performances for a quick Q&A about the state of their art and the careers that house it.

AFROPUNK hired me on to build and grow social video from the ground up following two years of work at NowThis.
They loved the concise, punchy nature of text-on-screen videos and Reels, but wanted to infuse the format with
Black, punk culture. I executed the task and below are some success stories in audience engagement and viewership.

The Story

Bob Vylan is a UK punk band, featuring two guys named ‘Bobby.’ While their energies are different, they are grounded with one another in their day-to-day, local life.

Myself and a fellow producer activated and remotely directed a two-person crew in London to capture the band’s essence and ways of life for the Bobby’s. Gathering interviews, Super8 footage, and social clips, I constructed this magazine-esque edit to give this budding talent an introductory collage to punks globally.
